Our Story

Lawson Surveys was founded in 1968 by James Venning Lawson. From the very beginning, the firm built its reputation on accuracy, reliability, and trusted relationships with clients across South East Queensland.

In 2003, long-time Senior Surveyor Russell Christofis became Director and continued to grow Lawson Surveys into one of Brisbane’s most respected surveying companies. When Russell retired in 2016, he passed the business on to Ian Gray, who had been mentored by him for many years.

Today, under Ian’s leadership, Lawson Surveys continues to uphold its proud history while embracing new technology, modern practices, and a focus on shaping thriving communities across the region. Our office is now located in Kelvin Grove, positioning us well to serve Brisbane and the wider South East Queensland area.
